BNI Showcases Hibank at AIPF 2023, Seizing Opportunities in Indonesia's MSME Segment
Jakarta, Tangerangtalk.online - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is optimistic about the prospects of PT Bank Hibank Indonesia as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprise (MSME) segment through digital solutions.
Hibank, a Digital First SME Bank owned by BNI, is dedicated to facilitating the growth of MSMEs and, in collaboration with BNI, propelling them to go global.
Silvano Rumantir, Director of Wholesale & International Banking at BNI, pointed out the significant potential of MSMEs in Indonesia. Moreover, many MSME players in Indonesia still lack access to banking services.
According to him, this presents an opportunity for Hibank to target a larger market within the MSME sector.
"MSMEs are predominantly informal, and access to financing is still very limited. Banking needs to be present, which is why we need to understand that digital is the key. That's why we have Hibank," Silvano said during the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) 2023 with the theme "Inclusive Digital Transformation" in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Silvano mentioned that MSMEs contribute 60.5% to the National Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This underscores the great potential for developing Indonesia's existing MSMEs, especially if we aim to strengthen and stabilize the national economy in the future.
Silvano continued by stating that the company launched Hibank as a solution to tap into a more dynamic MSME sector. Furthermore, Hibank is now more agile, combining the best practices in information technology, banking, and financial technology.
"We fully understand that technology will continue to evolve, and we have the key to unlock access to this market with Hibank," Silvano concluded. (Siaran pers)
